Captain Paul Azinger lead the American team to victoy, for the first time since 1999. All of this while missing the best golfer in the world Tiger Woods. The Europeans led by Captain Nick Faldo were heavily favored going into the event. Two time major winner in 2008 Padaig Harrington was a go to man for Europe. While U.S.A was relying on the experience of Phil Mickelson and Kenny Perry, to help lead a team filled with rookies. The three day event which consists of three types of matches; 8 foursome matches, 8 fourball matches and 12 single matches. The 2008 European vs. America golfing event occurred at the Valhalla Golf Club in Lousiville, Kentucky last weekend.
Day 1: Justin Leonard Hunter Mayham along with Stewart Cink and Chad Cambell won the first morning matches for the United States.
Friday afternoon Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim and also Justin Leonard and Hunter Mayham won for the United States. Ian Poulter and Justin Rose won for the Europeans.
Saturday morning Ian Polter and Justin Rose along with Henrick Stenson and Oliver Wilson brought two more vicotrys to Europe. The United States’ Jim Furyk and Kenny Perry brought it back.
Saturday afternoon Boo Weekly and JB Holmes won the match for the U.S.A while Ian Polter and Graeme McDowell won the European match.
On Sunday, there were twelve singles. The U.S winners consisted of:

All won their singles matches for the United States to its first Ryder Cup victory since 1999 making it our third Ryder Cup Victory in 15 years. The twelve member teamed showed a lot of emotion and excitement during their acceptance of the Ryder. For such a dull sport, the excitement of this event overshadowed the slow paced sport.
